Level IV Installer

FTI Belman is currently hiring a full-time Level IV Installer. This exciting position is ideal for a seasoned telecom installer with experience installing and troubleshooting DC Power, batteries, common systems, superstructure, and fiber guide systems and who also enjoys traveling.

Ideal Candidates Will Be Able To:

  • Perform advanced work operations in accordance with customer’s instructions for the installation of exchanges
  • Perform installation planning
  • Able to read and understand mechanical, electrical, engineering and instructional documentation
  • Install, maintain and repair telecom distribution and transmission systems, including superstructure, conduits, industrial batteries, DC power and signal cables, cable rack and fiber guide systems, and related equipment
  • Adhere to safety practices and procedures
  • Submit redline drawings and all required project documentation on time
  • Drive vehicles equipped with tools and materials to job sites
  • Travel to customer facilities
  • Work on energized low voltage DC circuits

Required Skills:

All activities  are subject to repetitive and extensive labor.  Extended hours may be required by the customer.  Work assignments take place in various facilities and environments both in and outside of the Customer facilities, including but not limited to stairs and rooftops.

  • Ability to drive between destinations
  • Ability to read and fully comprehend blueprints/floor plans, mechanical, electrical, engineering and instructional documentation
  • Possess leadership skills, be able to train and convey instructions to subordinate employees
  • Able to ascend and descend ladders repeatedly and work in elevated spaces up to 20′
  • Able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 100 yards while safely maneuvering equipment and materials
  • Able to work on feet for entire shift

Field Engineer
FTI Belman is currently hiring a full-time Field Engineer.

Ideal Candidates Will Be Able To:

  • Perform duties in support of network expansion planning to ensure customer’s requirements are met within prescribed timeframes and with highest quality
  • 75% travel position to various customer locations within the continental USA

Essential Job Functions:

  • Customer interface/planning/site meeting, audit and survey work
  • Produce Design/Engineering documentation
    • Produce installation documents (Facility Engineering Documents, Site Specific Installation Documents, Method of Procedure, Bill of Material, Cable Running List, Site & Rack Face drawings, etc.)
  • Perform final inspection of completed projects to ensure conformance to Customer Quality/Layer Standards
  • Write and hold design & engineering reviews that meet the highest standards
  • Practical, “hands on” experience with DC power distribution, isolated and non-isolated high-power DC/DC converter design, EMI filters, high power inverters, motor drives and familiarity with buck, boost and buck-boost converters desired
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD to be utilized when developing and changing customers T-Drawings
    • Update drawings per customer’s request via e-mail (As-built)
    • Travel to customer’s facility and update/true-up AutoCAD Master Set
    • After drawings are complete, submit final draft for review

Required Skills:

  • Knowledgeable with GR-1275 installation standards document
  • Strong working knowledge of wireless telecommunications equipment to include DC power systems
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Complete all applicable reports and required project documentation
  • Able to follow established procedures
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Good note taking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with customers, vendors, project managers, drafters and engineers regarding information from the field

Experience & Education:

  • Three to five years of the experience in the telecom field as an Engineer/Site Planner

Level III Installer

Drafter

FTI Belman is currently hiring a full-time Drafter. Primary responsibilities include layout of complete products and preparation of assembly and detail drawings, following the general instructions and directions of a designer, within the timeframe and quality set forth by customer. 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares layouts, assembly, and detail drawings for new or improved products, test equipment, tools, fixtures, and gauge design.
  • Prepares initial drawings on designated test apparatus and monitors results.
  • Update drawings per customer’s request via e-mail (As-built)
  • Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions.
  • Provides information when required for cost estimating, such as blank layouts and processing sketches.
  • Travel to customer facilities and update / true-up AutoCAD Master Set.
  • Perform final inspection of completed projects to ensure conformance to Customer Quality / Layer Standards.
  • Assists in the follow-up of prototype construction with outside vendors.
  • Secures quotations and expedites materials and delivery.
  • After drawings are complete, submit final draft for review.

Required Skills:

  • Soft skills: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD to be utilized when developing and changing customers T-Drawings
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Liaison with engineering personnel
  • Able to move from design concept to finished design, including layouts and tolerance valuations and detail drawings.
  • Write Method Of Procedure (Limited to just an entry type MOP)
  • Ability to learn and execute established procedures and programs
  • Complete all applicable reports and required project documentation
  • Able to follow established procedures to complete required Facility Engineering Drafting.

Experience & Education:

  • One (1) to two (2) years’ college or trade school education in mechanical drawing / CAD design
  • Minimum five (5) years’ on-the-job experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for formal training.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Pass a physical examination
  • Negative drug screen
