Drafter
Overview:
- Lays out complete products and prepares assembly and detail drawings, following the general instructions and directions of a designer within the timeframe and quality set forth by customer.

Essential Functions:
- Prepares layouts, assembly, and detail drawings for new or improved products, test equipment, tools, fixtures, and gauge design.
- Prepares initial drawings on designated test apparatus and monitors results.
- Update drawings per customer’s request via e-mail (As-built)
- Analyzes various design requirements and recommends possible solutions or alternate constructions.
- Provides information when required for cost estimating, such as blank layouts and processing sketches.
- Travel to customer facilities and update / true-up AutoCAD Master Set.
- Perform final inspection of completed projects to ensure conformance to Customer Quality / Layer Standards.
- Assists in the follow-up of prototype construction with outside vendors.
- Secures quotations and expedites materials and delivery.
- After drawings are complete, submit final draft for review.
Required Skills:
- Soft skills: AutoCAD, Microsoft Office
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD to be utilized when developing and changing customers T-Drawings
- Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Liaison with engineering personnel
- Able to move from design concept to finished design, including layouts and tolerance valuations and detail drawings.
- Write Method Of Procedure (Limited to just an entry type MOP)
- Ability to learn and execute established procedures and programs
- Complete all applicable reports and required project documentation
- Able to follow established procedures to complete required Facility Engineering Drafting.
Education & Experience:
- One (1) to two (2) years’ college or trade school education in commercial architectural drawing / CAD design
- Minimum five (5) years’ on-the-job experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for formal training.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Pass a physical examination
